Several weeks have passed and signs of hectic rebuilding of nests by the industrious ants is evident, as this close up of activity in an Illawarra Flame Tree shows . It is just one of many , at a rough count close to 20, underway in the tree, all at the end of a branch or twig .
If the nests continue to multiply in such numbers we could end up with more than the lights on the dazzling Christmas tree in the Rockefeller Centre , New York .
