A ragged court appearance
An eye grabbing quilt in the Sue McLean exhibition on Magnetic Island is Courthouse Steps (above) based on a design by Australian quilter Teresa Mairal Barreu , a machine pierced "disappearing block ", measuring 105 cm x 170 cm . Sue , who resides on the island, is well known in the national quilting fraternity. Her quilts have been used to raise funds for worthy causes , including one in Townsville which raised more than $1000 in a raffle .
After the exhibition of the 35 well displayed quilts at Amaroo on Mandalay , the jivey judge will haul the mainland media into the Lunacy Court for criminal neglect of the event and order them , after a sound flogging , to be deported to Van Diemen's Land for the term of their natural subscriptions to online life , with umpteen giveaways and Christmas lashings with a cat as a surprise treat .
