DEBBIE RAMPED UP THE RAMP

When  Cyclone  Debbie hovered off  the Queensland coast, the   top   deck  passenger  ramp for the Sealink  ferry service between  Magnetic  Island and  Townsville  was   raised  at one stage  to  take   weight  off  the  landing   pontoon    so  that  it  could   ride  up  and  down  freely on   piles   in  the event of  wild  seas ;   the   ramp  structure  would  also be protected .
