In a grand gesture , Queen Elizabeth ll plans to auction off part of the vast British crown jewels collection to prevent the Northern Territory of Australia from being declared bankrupt and sold lock, stock and barrel to an overseas buyer intent on fracking the place.
Some of the fabulous crowns , each one worth a king's ransom , are already on display , above, in the Darwin suburb of Coolalinga , at Shed 24 , which deals in antiques , collectables and old wares including bushranger armour , military models , slouch hats ,china , old magazines, an interior view follows .
In an exclusive interview with Little Darwin's London Royal Correspondent, Ned Forelock-Tugger , at Buckingham Palace , Lizzie Twostroke revealed she has more jewel studded crowns than Imelda Marcos had shoes , and will auction off a pile of them to help the Territory from going down the gurgler .
Her Majesty explained it was a small act of atonement for her Australian representative , tipsy Governor-Governor, Sir John Kerr , tipping out the worthy Whitlam ALP Government in 1975.
Just before Christmas it was announced that the Territory ALP Government is broke and called on Territorians to come up with ways and means to attack the situation. The suggestion that the Territory be opened up to fracking did not appeal to the Queen who said she would back farmers throughout Australia, especially in the Territory and the Kimberley, who oppose the idea .
