The eccentric photographer Vallis has again been disturbing birds, dogs and neighbours by chasing a flighty young Coucal , blurred photo below, which dashed across the backyard into a tree . With Vallis in pursuit trying to avoid running into thorny plants , the bird fluttered from one tree to another, up , down .

Vallis resorted to once again poorly imitating the loud whooping call of a Coucal . This caused the puzzled bird , also known as a Swamp Cuckoo, to momentarily stop and peer back at him - but only for a split second . Then he was off - running , fluttering again . Into an overgrown hot chilli bush, across to an hibiscus in need of a trim , back to the chilli, up the flame tree..

The only reasonable photo , above , of the elusive Coucal was taken before it flew into a mandarin tree stripped by Cockatoos.Then it flew off into the distance after enduring another annoying barrage of Whoop! Whoop ! from the stumbling photographer.
