Our chiacking Shipping Reporter has often claimed he has seen leprechauns while drinking in Molly Malone's Irish Pub on Townsville's waterfront nightclub precinct. Pull the other shamrock , we tell him , it is made in China . He insists, however , and promises to one day produce photographic evidence that there are wee people in North Queensland .
Much to our surprise , he has just produced this puzzling photograph of a large log on Magnetic Island which appears to have a tiny figure seated near the end , on the right . On close examination , It looks all the world like a woman dressed for a fox hunt , mounted on a dog !!!!!

Armed with a net , a tracker dog , a camera and a breath testing kit (for the Shipping Reporter ), Little Darwin intends following up this bizarre story which could feature in the Guinness Book of Records.
