RARE WARTIME CONSCRIPTION CARD

World War One postcard showing Australian Kangaroo in France fighting the Germans represented as a Dachshund dog with Iron Cross  medal flying , winklepicker helmet knocked off . In Australia , a Dingo  is rejoicing, saying with the Kangaroo  away , he is the boss, so long live the  Dachshund! Clearly, this New Zealand postcard , in a Queensland collection , was issued during the divisive Australian government's compulsory conscription attempt  by Prime Minister Billy Hughes , rejected in two referenda held in  1916   and  1917.
