After yet another inspection of Magnetic Island's 50 metre long Nelly Bay Beach groyne , at low tide, our concerned Shipping Reporter says it is in obvious need of repair..
Plainly visible in the above photograph is the crumpled near empty bag which has been repeatedly bumping up against the main structure during tidal movements .
Also visible is one bag which has become unzipped . Bags running along the top are obviously subsiding, there being ridges, air pockets .
