Apart from sporting a spooky woman on its trunk, this Townsville palm tree in the CBD has had graffiti and the initials of many people carved into it , some a considerable number of years ago . The incisions and artwork go from almost ground level to high up the tree .
A quick scan of the tree turned up at least one swear word , several hearts with arrows, initials galore , a few names , dates . With a bit of imagination, one shape above could be taken as that of a high - kicking , leggy, malnourished burlesque dancer .
The tree is located next to busy Flinders Street, near a bus stop, the railway station and the Victory in the Pacific fountain .
