Is there a flag doctor in the operating theatre ?
A student of the history , symbolism and usage of flags had an outbreak of apoplexy when he spotted one of the four flags flying outside the Townsville University Hospital was in obvious need of medical attention . It is the one on the right in the above photo , which at times was almost flying upside down, which could indicate a ship in distress ,like the Titanic , or one of the leaky yachts in the Duck Pond .
It had gone feral , partly detached from the flagpole , flapping about in the wind like one of the discarded garments in the Dance of the Seven Veils. The flag obviously required immediate professional treatment , restraining by several men in white coats , tied down with some of the wire used by the vascular department , several kilometres of which were used to rewire our salty, corroding Shipping Reporter .
