One of our keen Darwin garage sale runners found a well worn 1940s leaflet revealing that Australian ex servicewomen after WW 11 got half the tobacco monthly ration of that allocated to men. The front shows the allocation copy and nominated supplier for Alan Vivian Guy, of Italian Gully, via Ballarat, Victoria.
The back states males were entitled to 8 ounces of tobacco or 240 cigarettes ; woman 4 ounces of tobacco , 120 cigarettes.
