There are growing fears that an island fisherman has been taken by a giant clam. Our exclusive photograph , above , shows the man's upturned tinnie and his footwear , which was spat out by the marine monster . Visiting Pommie seafood chef , Rick Stein , was walking along the beach at Cockle Bay, Magnetic Island, when he heard a terrible scream .
Looking up, he saw the unfortunate hunter sucked under by the clam . After two minutes, the clam burped loudly , and expelled the shoes . Still shocked, Stein said the clam would probably have kept the shoes for a midnight snack if they had been dipped in tartare sauce . Stein went on to say the art work on the bow of the boat was saucy and would have attracted the voracious, gourmet clam. As expected, Bob Katter has said all clams should be shot on sight, especially the thirsty ones who gather at the Cloncurry Pub when he shouts for the house .
