MISS WONG ESCAPES / LARRY RETURNS TO THE BOUNDING MAIN

News has  come through that Miss Wong , the  foundling  Torres Strait Pigeon raised on Magnetic Island , has escaped into the wild.Taken to  Mission  Beach  and  placed in an aviary to get  used  to her kind before  being released, she flew the coop  when  the  door  was  opened  at  feeding  time . She  was  last seen  heading  towards the rainforest .


Larry , the talking and abusing Lorikeet, who spent  time with Miss Wong  on Magnetic Island  while she was recuperating , acted strangely after  she  was  taken away to  Mission Beach.  Instead of  taking his blue doll into his cage at night , he insisted on  Big Teddy  spending the  night  with  him.

Now , however , Larry is  back aboard  the  catamaran owned by  Jenn and John Payne.It seems Jenn  has  been engaged  as a cook aboard the vessel hired for Sir  David Attenborough's film  crew. Attenborough  arrived  in Townsville on  Friday on  his way to Cairns  to  film a  series  about  the  Great Barrier Reef. Who knows, Larry's   fame  could  attract  the  attention  of  Attenborough  ?
