SPOOKY ISLAND

 Our Shipping Reporter  is  castigating himself  for missing out on a golden opportunity  to corner the  lucrative   Halloween  market  in   North Queensland . A  garage sale  on  Magnetic Island  offered a large amount of  Halloween   paraphernalia .  It  included  ugly  masks  and  a  pile  of  spiders . The spiders were so  lifelike , the  woman  selling  the  stuff  got  a  fright  setting  up  a  display table. The waterfront scribbler  said he  could   have  had  some  fun wearing  a  ghastly mask  late  at  night , frightening the bejeezus out of  denizens  of  Townsville's  waterfront  nightclub precinct , where he spends a lot of  time ,  and  sprinkling  spiders   about  the  bars  at  the  Mad  Cow  and Molly  Malone's  Irish  Pub  ,  if   only  he   had  bought   up   big.
