ADMIRAL HARRY HARRIS TASK FORCE CLEANS UP TOWNSVILLE

Proof positive that  Little Darwin  and Admiral  Harris  form a  powerful nautical  force that  gets things  done  is the sudden  clean up  of  the Townsville  civic pride  waterfront .  Most  noticeable  is  the  makeover of  the anchor  from the  aircraft carrier USS Coral Sea , a gift  from America  to the city of Townsville .  This  blog pointed out that the anchor, above,  had  been neglected  for years ,  patches of  rust  showing  through , the  plaques on  it illegible, a  large tag added recently, all of which had gone unnoticed  by  seasick  local  scribes.
Deck  scrubbed clean  at  long  last.
Our S(h)ipping  Reporter, the only one   north of  Fairy Bower , Sydney , supplied  Admiral  Harry Harris  with  intelligence on  how  Townsville  civic  authorities, slow to read  the semaphored message,   have long   been negligent by not   protecting the  anchor and  Victory in the Pacific  Memorial Fountain , which  at times was not working , filled with rubbish, even a hypodermic needle , the  nearby  bus  shelter  covered  in  graffiti.

Admiral Harris , recently appointed  US Ambassador to Australia , was so upset about the Townsville situation that he drew  up plans for Marines from Okinawa  to storm  the beaches of the Queen City of the North and  erect   the Wally World  flag over  the  Townsville  City  Council  soundproof  bunker .

This blog exclusively  reported from  Hawaii , angry  Admiral  Harris , muttering   a threat to put somebody's "ass in a sling " , said  the Coral Sea anchor and  the  Victory in the Pacific   Memorial  Fountain  had better  be  fixed up  before he would  accept  the  position  as  US Ambassador to  Australia .

Our eagle eyed  S(h)ipping  Reporter says not only is the  fountain working but the bus shelter has been  wiped clean , along with the rude comment about Donald Trump .  In the case  of the Coral Sea  anchor , it  has   been attended  to , the rusty American  steel covered up ,  and  the  plaques   can  now  actually  be easily read . The old corroded ones may  have   been  replaced with new  ones or been touched up  with  abundant  council  white  out .

Top plaque , neglected for years ,  before  Admiral Harris  fired 12 inch  broadside .

After Admiral Harris joined forces with  HMAS Little Darwin the  Townsville City Council plaque and  the other  from the Townsville Port Authority  have suddenly become   readable .
