With an eye for offbeat items related to New Zealand , including their racehorses, one of our Darwin runners, born in Rotorua, spotted the sllghtly waterlogged l961 copy of the history of Hastings - named after Warren Hastings, the first controversial Governor-General of British India - in the North Island of New Zealand . It was compiled by pupils in rooom 22 at the Heretaunga Intermediate School.
