The lanky, cute young Curlew pictured here is in the process of being turfed out into the cruel cold world by its parents because its mother has turned broody again and is sitting on two eggs.
The greedy youngster has received several peckings from its dad, shown below on guard , firmly telling it to go away , hit the track .
As far as is known, the young bird has not yet mastered the art of flying, so will have to depart on foot . It has been seen , a lonely figure in a departure lounge setting , below, a long way from its parents , instead of cuddling up close. It is reluctant to leave because it knows it is well fed by this blogger ,morning and afternoon , even given a late night snack now and again.
