MARITIME WARNING UPDATED

 Shipping  Reporter  casts  another  eye  over   Nelly's   groyne 

Our vigilant  waterfront   roundsman   says  an unsafe  situation still exists  on Magnetic Island  - a  mysterious   large   floating  object  still bumping up against   the  imposing Nelly  Bay   groyne , the  tip of the Titanic iceberg , as it  were , visible  above  and   below . 

During  a  close examination of the  groyne , the Shipping Reporter  says he found   indications that  it  could be  subsiding   in  places   and produced  photos  to  back up  his  claim . 

Indentations  and  ridges ,  perhaps  an indication  that  contents have been washed away , were visible . One   snap   showed  exposed   joins  between the  bags through  which  seawater   could  be   entering  and washing away some of  the  filling.

In any case,  the Shipping Reporter   says  surely  somebody  responsible for safety at sea  and  the official receiver of  wreck  will remove the   floating object  threat , or should we  all  just join hands  and  sing   the British   hymn , Eternal Father , Strong to Save,  and  hope it keeps seafarers  and nude Tasmanian  swimmers  safe  , especially  near  Nelly's  groyne  and  off   Magnetic  Island. ( Mainland   media  news  tip : could  be a story. )
