AUSTRALIAN SAINT NEGLECTED: SUFFER THE LITTLE WEEDS TO COME UNTO ME

 With his  powerful  nautical  telescope , our Shipping Reporter  has  again  revealed  that  the  Catholic  saint ,  Mary MacKillop , who overlooks  busy Ross River  Road , Townsville ,  is  in need of care and  attention. He points out  that  one  or  more  plants ,possibly even noxious weeds,  are  growing   in  the space  ,top  left , above  her  portrait .   

It seems like years  ago that  the  Shipping  Reporter   ran a  campaign to  have the  faded  portrait of   the  saint , below,   replaced, the   media apparently not noticing she  was  succumbing to  the  tropical  sun and humidity.  It will be  interesting  to  see  how  long  it  takes  before   the  plants  are removed. 

Recently the  Townsville Bulletin  ran a  10-page Catholic News  supplement , nearly as big as the Harvey Norman advertising godfather section, strangely  without any mention of   the   growth in the Saint Mary of the Cross  tower .
