The strong influence of music and theatricals on the Queensland town of Beaudesert , south of Brisbane and west of the Gold Coast , is revealed in these programmes from the l990s , found by one of our ephemera runners in North Queensland .
Information supplied about the Beaudesert Amateur Musical Society (BAMS) shows that already in 1990 it had staged the pantomime Snow White , the comedy play Boeing,Boeing , the latest production that year was The Music Man
Since 1980, BAMS productions had been South Pacific, Annie Get Your Gun ,Rose Marie, Brigadoon, The Pyjama Game, White Horse Inn, My Fair Lady ,Oliver , Kismet and Oklahoma .
The programme is well illustrated and has an extensive list of all those involved in The Music Man . Special mention is made of the wardrobe mistress , Elsie Barram , a foundation member of BAMS and a pianist .

The 1992 Beaudesert State High School speech night includes a variety of musical performances including a sea shanty , a concert band, a symphonic band .
Today Beaudesert is said to have an arts centre used by various groups, including the Bush Bards.
