NATIONAL RALLY AGAINST TIMOR- LESTE BUGGING CASE PLANNED FOR NEXT WEEK

There will be rallies across the nation next Monday in support  of  two men regarded as East Timor heroes -‘Witness K’ and lawyer Bernard Collaery-charged following the revelation that the Australian government had bugged  the Cabinet office of  the Timor Leste government in Dili  during negotiations  on  the  Timor Sea boundary between the two countries and oil deposits.

The   Darwin demonstration will be held  outside the Supreme Court at 12.10pm   by  the  foundation member of  the  Northern Territory Council  for Civil Liberties  and   longtime  East Timor  campaigner ,  agronomist  Robert  Wesley-Smith . He and his twin brothers have been honoured by the  Timor-Leste regime  for  their  outstanding support.  

Helping  prepare the Darwin rally   is  Dr  Sister  Susan  Connelly , of Sydney ,  who has taught in Catholic and state schools, and plays an active part in the Timor Sea Justice movement .
