DUGONG DEATHS ON BARRIER REEF

So far unreported  by local media   is   the  finding of  a dead dugong washed up  on Magnetic Island . There is a  hearsay report   that  another  was  found  on  a Townsville beach . The  dugong  on Magnetic Island was  discovered  at Nelly Bay at the weekend . It was  still there several days later , then  covered over  with  sand .   An  island resident  said   another  dugong had  also  been washed up  recently at Townsville.
