DREAMING OF A WHITE CHRISTMAS IN TORRID TROPICS

With much of  Queensland  experiencing   heat wave conditions , this photo of  the Cairns   Christmas  tree  arrived ,  followed  soon  after  by  an  email from   British   friends  in  the UK , who had lived  in   Darwin  in the  1970s , talking  about  the  festive season , the message  ending  because of  the  need  to   clean   and  pluck  pheasants .There will be  no  consumption of  fancy poultry in this sweaty  neck of  the  woods -unless  it   be  the  two   Barking  Owls  which  have  been  killing  so  many   Curlew chicks   in  the  area  .
