A group of 10 organisations against the Trans Pacific Pact is planning to run a full page advertisement in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser , according to GetUp, the independent, not for profit campaigning group. An email from GetUp draws attention to the fact that Australia's Trade Minister , Andrew Robb , promoted as faster than a speeding bullet when it comes to signing trade agreements , is eager to sign the pact, despite the fact that it will be detrimental to all the signatories, including the US. This sweeping, secretive international trade agreement could jeopardise our food
labelling laws and affordable medicines, and even restrict our government's
abilities to make laws — like our plain packaging legislation — that protect
public interests over the profits of multinational corporations. The organisations opposing the TPP represent 2.6million people .
