APOCALYPSE NOW HORSES SIGHTED IN NEW SOUTH WALES

The explosive comments by respected and well-connected journalist, Niki Savva , on Australia's  best political  show,  the ABC's Insiders, about  the possible outcome in the NSW election ,  must have  the  Coalition quaking in  its  boots . Having once been  on  John Howard's staff  and  then with Peter Costello when  he was Treasurer, Savva  said  there was talk that  the  Baird  Government  could lose 20, possibly more, seats and  anything greater   could lead  to " World War lll " in  the Liberals .
Fascinating was  her statement that  Liberal  doorknockers on  the NSW election  trail were  being told that they had to" get rid of Abbott  first"  and that people  were not keen on the idea to sell off / lease assets. With Premier  Baird adamant  that  he  wants  to lease  the poles and wire , any such suggestion soundly rejected by voters  in  Queensland,  the  Saturday election  is  shaping up as  another bloodbath  which  could  see  PM Abbott  removed and Tory scuppers overflowing.
Mass crucifixions  expected  in  polarised  Tories  after  NSW.
Former  PM John Howard, also on Insiders, made a  revealing statement when he said he  felt that  Abbott would step   down if he thought his  presence was detrimental  to  the  party.  Don't bet  on  it . Some say  the PM's fingernails would be  deeply imbedded in the wallpaper  if  a deputation called on him to  pedal  off .

During  Insiders  Christopher Pyne rightly came in for  criticism by the  panel , especially in connection with  his threat to  cut off  funds to  1700 scientific  research workers if he did not get his way. When  he  backflipped , Pyne  had  the hide  to say he was " The  Fixer"... another cartoonist's  delight.  Political  journalist  Malcolm Farmer of  The Telegraph  said  Pyne's claim to have fixed the  situation was like  Napoleon Bonaparte  saying  the  retreat  from Moscow  was  a  slap  in  the  face  for  the  Czar .

The  inert  Nationals in NSW  face annihilation, the red  hot fracking issue and farmland invasion by mining companies  set  to blow them away. And the fact that Tony Abbott  attended  the Baird  Liberal launch  but did not speak in itself shows he is hyper-toxic . And there is  the  little matter of  the PM using a  RAAF plane to  fly to a private birthday party for a millionaire  mining magnate who is a  financial  backer of  the Liberals. With only days to go, no  wonder the front bench in the House of Representatives  looks so  haggard  and  apprehensive .

Reading  the  mass of  tea leaves  left  over  from what  the PM has described as assorted storms in  drinking utensils, one gets the  impression  the  conservatives  are  in  for  an enormous  tectonic  shock  this  weekend .
