TRIBUTE TO LASER BEAK MAN

And a  bouquet to his wonderful mother, with praise for the ABC   Australian Story  which   told  the  sensitive  and  inspiring  journey of an  autistic child who faced a  bleak future , beat enormous  barriers ,  invented the superhero  Laser Beak Man , represented the nation in Washington, now stages popular  art exhibitions  and  had  a  puppet  show  in  the Sydney Opera House .

Artist Tim Sharp  and his  extraordinary  mother .
After watching  the superb  ABC documentary, our  Shipping Reporter ,    as usual  poking  his  beak about the waterfront , came across incredible  signs of  the  Laser Beak Man  craze  on  Magnetic Island . On a wild  stage , below,  a variety of  birds  came and  went, some  sitting on  a  giant  rocky  beak .

The  white bird in the following shot  , a Great Egret , was  obviously stage struck , performing  a  series of  beak   illusions , one  casting a  shadow  that made  him  look  like a  big-billed  Pelican .
Carried away with his act, he  then produced an outline which made him look like a  duck. This  was  followed  by  a  rabbit !!!

While photographing the entertaining  birds on the rocks , an inquisitive Kookaburra  got  in  the  act  by  taking  an obvious  Laser Beak Man   pose.
