The quirkily named Drop Bear Cafe at Arcadia is no more. There is a new venture, Bar and Grill , on the premises , run by people who had the Nelly Bay Bakery , with cafe experience on the Gold Coast, offering a wide variety of tucker, special treats for tradies and others .
On the real estate front, the jump in island values is illustrated by the recent listing of a vacant residential block in Nelly Bay for $250,000. This is due to the fact that there are so few vacant blocks on the island , several have recently been built upon . Another allotment, on septic , is priced at $215,000.
