Not some new kind of Lego brick of doom , this odd object is a well worn fire brick atop a bookcase in Darwin's fascinating Genealogical Society of the Northern Territory (GSNT) library .
It was found during renovation work in Darwin's old cemetery . As it did not relate to any nearby stonework it was presented to the GSNT , knowing they have done much research into the cemetery and those buried there . So the mysterious, resurrected brick now sits in the library section which contains many great stories and items of interest .
It is from the Ordish Fire Brick Company, Dandenong , Victoria, founded by W. P. Ordish about 1890 , who sold the business in 1922 , died in 1930.
