Shipping Reporter follow up to his early expose , below , about Alma Creek on Magnetic Island being blanketed by pumice, some spilling over onto the banks of the stream . The Alma Bay beach was recently declared Queensland's second best in a list of 10 , ahead of two others in North Queensland .
As far as the eye can see up Alma Creek it is chockers with pumice, he says, and produced the following graphic series of photographs to prove the point. It is axiomatic that every time the creek fills up and overflows, another torrent of pumice runs down into the sea and then is washed back onto the beach and other "pristine beaches" on the island .
On Wednesday morning there were extensive deposits of pumice visible along the entire beach.
