The continuing massive runoff of water from the high interior of Magnetic Island is evident by the undermining of roads, as above , and coursing rapidly along gutters . The dark portions in the roadway shown here are due to water under the surface , fast flowing gutters emptying into drains , heard running all night .
For days , a residence in which a Canadian lives has had a fast flowing stream of water down the driveway from an adjoining higher vacant block . Must be like the thaw in Canada .
Part of the roadway is mounded up , damaged by cars , sections feeling as if floating underfoot . Widespread roadway damage evident throughout the island, some patching of holes by council workers .
The Picnic Bay Surf Club foreshore area cut away by floodwater and waves . The stinger net has been wound in to protect it from damage and the beach is closed to swimmers.
The Queen of the Jungle's residence is sandbagged , the roof leaking in several places ; another carpet snake , a fat one of about five foot , was removed from the royal shack by the island's snake lady . A large moth and a spider put in an appearance on an outside wall this morning
