Victoria Settlement , at Port Essington, which was started in 1838 and abandoned in 1849 will be the subject of a talk by conservation architect David Bridgman at the Northern Territory Archives Centre in Darwin on October 26. It will cover the history of the settlement and recent conservation work on Mrs Lambrick's grave , Cornish chimneys and a charcoal kiln . Macassan traders called in .
