WAILING CURLEWS JOIN HEAVY METAL TROPICAL STREET GANG

In  the bustling  Far North Queensland tourist town  of Cairns , a pair of  Curlews  are  nesting   at  the front  of  the Avis  and Budget car  rental yard in  Lake  Street  along   with   native  animals  made  from  steel.
On  the far right of the above photograph,  a Curlew is sitting on eggs while a Frilled-neck Lizard , crafted from metal , stands  guard  near a log. In another shot , below, taken  through  the  fence , the  Curlew is doing   what  the  bigger  birds   cannot   do ,  stretch   a   wing .
