After an overnight storm , the overflow at Aplin's Weir , Mundingburra, Townsville, delights swallows which live under the footbridge and fishermen who gather on the banks .
Below the weir , a tree stands out looking like a battered decorated Christmas tree- clumps of weed caught up in the branches by earlier much higher and faster overflow.
