FAST COMPANY

Flashback  1960  newspaper cutting  of jubilant  Saint Peter's College team  which  won  the  South Australian  Schoolboys'  Three  Mile  Cross Country Championship.

From the left, Robert  Wesley-Smith , who went on to become  a Northern Territory  agronomist  and  activist  , founding secretary of the   NT Council for  Civil  Liberties  ; John Bannon  , later  ALP South Australian Premier ;  Michael  Abbott  ( captain )   who  became a prominent lawyer , and    another  fleet - footed student , Peter   Fleming.

Going on another newspapr  cutting   It  seems  Wesley-Smith  was   a   youngster  into  speed  as  it  shows  him  crawling, with another  boy,  under  a  jet  engine on  public  display   in   l947.
