AROUND THE WORLD UNDER SAIL

 
The Polish  naval training vessel Dar Młodzieży-The Gift of Youth-  designed by  leading naval architect, Zygmunt Choreń, circumnavigated  the globe under sail  in 1987-1988  and  called into  Australia ,  drawing  large  crowds . Built  in the famous Gdansk shipyards, the  steel hulled vessel  is  108.8 metres long  and has a  sail area of  3015 square metres .  Below  it  is shown  tied  up  at Port Adelaide . It  was  the recipient of the Boston Tea Pot Trophy for  the  voyage.
