HOME ALONE EAGLET SURVEYS FASCINATING WORLD

After making an early flight , the young Alma Bay eagle mentioned in an earlier  post  was  captured a day later on top of the nest , still   somewhat  loose  feathery , head  down ,  preening  itself,  pausing   now  and  again  to  gaze  at  the  surrounds.

High up in the Hoop Pine it had a panoramic  view  of  Alma  Creek  which  runs  into  the bay,  passing  through  an area  in which natural  vegetation has been  restored   to provide  tucker  for  wallabies, echidnas and  scrub fowl .

Saltwater pool , above , formed by high tide  where  currently dry creek meets the  popular  beach .
The eagle  has a sweeping  view of  the landscape, which includes  a pyramid-like  rock  above  the creek , a  frangipani  tree   in   bloom ,  some native  trees  also .
