The superyacht My Way , named after American crooner Frank Sinatra , who famously lived his life " my way" , has been moored in the Magnetic Island marina for days without the mainland media noticing .
On its large transom is a Boston Whaler tender, visible , named Blue Eyes , part of Sinatra's nickname , Ol' Blue Eyes . A 2017 report said the Melbourne based owner of the 35ft catamaran, fitted out for luxury cruises from the Gold Coast up north , was a Sinatra fan . Our Shipping Reporter said Mickey Mouse strumming a banjo and yodelling from the bow of a yacht as big as the Queen Mary could sail into Townsville and the press would not notice . On another nautical subject, still floating about the island is a plastered vehicle promising to provide the answer to how the Titanic sank , the mainland press also not interested..unless the Titanic was a local fishing smack and its skipper an uppity koala .
