Now and again , the Queen of the Jungle rings this blog and issues an electrifying command to grab a camera and come quickly to her leafy estate because of something remarkable . The latest call related to colourful beetles , seen here , which had invaded an hibiscus tree.
In the past , urgent calls from her have involved snakes , a rare black Curlew , the annual first arrival of Torres Strait Pigeons and sightings of other exotic birds.
These calls can come early in the morning when you are lolling about, still in night attire , causing one to dash about , quickly dress up , don a pith helmet for a jungle safari like David Attenborough .
