North Queensland shock horror
While Townsville , Queen City of the North , is being overrun by NSW cockroaches for the state of origin match, on Magnetic Island residents are facing snakes , stingers and heart stoppers.
Furthermore, millipedes ,which for many years have invaded homes and gardens across South Australia in plaque numbers ,are turning up on the island ,one captured ,above, emitting protective spray .It is sincerely hoped It is not the Portuguese Millipede species introduced into Australia in 1950 which can get into food, bedding and clothes, stain floors when squashed and stink and destroy backyard gardens . What next , a mouse plaque ?
Another horde facing the Townsville Stadium involves 25,000 caterwauling , pie- eater footie fans .
