QUEEN BECAME MASS OF STARS

The voluptuous vehicle carrier Cassiopeia  Leader docked in Townsville and , once again , the landlubber media  did  not  notice her arrival .  In  Greek mythology Cassiopeia was an arrogant and  vain queen who believed she and her daughter, Andromeda, were  the  most  beautiful women  in  the  kingdom .

For some strange reason , this  upset the god of the sea, Poseidon ,who threatened all  kinds of  disasters, including flooding .

A wise old  ( kinky ? )  oracle  , who could get  a job on 2GB today promoting the use of hessian bags ,   said  the only way to prevent a major attack on the kingdom  was to chain lovely Andromeda  to a rock so that a  sea  monster   could  swim  up  and  devour  her.

While  poor Andromeda  was  indeed  chained to a  rock  , things did not work out as  planned .  She  was  rescued by  a  bloke  she  married . And Poseidon  punished  Cassiopeia  by  chaining  her  to  a  chair  in  the  heavens , a chair representing   an   instrument of  torture .
The  Second Century astronomer Ptolemy  perpetuated  the   yarn  by naming  one  of   48  constellations   after   Cassiopeia  .  This gripping maritime report , by our  star   Shipping Reporter ,  again  clearly  illustrates the  many colourful  stories  that  go  begging  in  Townsville's  Ghost   Fleet .
