Alas and alack, the chick seen trotting along with a parent has disappeared overnight . An inquisitive little critter , it was coming along in leaps and bounds . Recently a close up photograph [below] was taken of its fluffy feathers, some of which had turned curly .
This morning there was no sign of the chick , its parents showing signs of distress , wailing , running about ,vainly searching ...later , one of the parents, a worm in its beak, was seen running about , as if looking for the chick , occasionally stopping , calling out . It came to the kitchen back door and the Little Darwin den , still with the worm .
