AUSTRALIAN BUSHRANGERS TO FEATURE IN EPIC MOVIES ; JAGGER (THANKFULLY) NOT INVOLVED

Muso, songwriter and record  cover designer , Gary Hunn,  of Magnetic Island , is soon to set out on a  great   film making venture  covering  the major  Australian bushrangers . Little Darwin has  discussed the  project   with  him  and  he  has revealed  an  encyclopedic  knowledge of  bushrangers through research ,  including  Ned  Kelly , Captain  Moonlight , Dan  Morgan  and  Captain  Starlight.

The  angles  are many and  varied.  Over the years  Gary has  had a strong influence on bands and  recording in the North. A guitarist/vocalist , he started two bands Crawling Kingsnakes and  The Primitive ThingsHunn   helped  Townsville   Councillor    Jack    Wilson , record  the  Sun   basketball    team’s  theme  song , Sun’s Up . As fate would  have it ,Hunn is  related  to the  popular  Australian singer , Gladys  Moncrieff.

Interested  in   history ,  expecially  the  life  and  times  of  Napoleon  Bonaparte , Gary   also likes  the    poetry    of   Rimbaud ,  Coleridge  and   Robert  Burns . Poetry,  he  found, helped him compose   songs.     A   song  he  wrote   , Hallelujah,  Auld Lang  Syne, became  a  hit   in Scotland.   He   penned the    piece  after   learning  that   Robert  Burns  had composed   Auld Lang Syne ,  and   his   tune   coincided    with   the   Robert  Burns  Bicentenary.

From   Brisbane ,   Hunn      had    worked   in    advertising  and  the  recording   industry  before  coming   to    Townsville   for   Warner   Brothers   selling   and  promoting  discs and   artists  in   an   area   which    included  Cairns ,  Mackay  and  Darwin  in   the   Northern  Territory.Travelling with Gary on  the  film shoot in  Queensland, Victoria  and  NSW  will  be a son aptly  named Kelly.
