Charters Towers , North Queensland : Northern  Miner  newspaper office  at  top  where  author/historian Glenville Pike  spent   months  taking  many  notes  from  the  paper's old files  which  helped  his  research into  the early days of North Queensland  and the Northern  Territory .  Other photo is  an  eye catching  house  on  stilts .
