Shipping Reporter Salvage Operation
Across a cavernous Darwin op shop , a mountain of items for sale , one , a painting on a shelf , attracted attention . From a distance, the subject seemed to be Castle Hill , which dominates the North Queensland city of Townsville. And so it was , painted from a waterfront angle ,the work of artist Eddie Omelaniuk .It is now back in Townsville in a residence sporting another larger painting of Castle Hill by the same artist and an 1886 engraving of Townsville featuring Castle Hill and several vessels .
