During commentary on races in the World Dragon Boat Championships in Italy it was stated that the team from Darwin tried not to overturn their boat while training back home because of all the crocodiles in the water. Later there was mention of alligators in the water . Of course, in the early days of settlement in the Territory , the saurians were called alligators . An American team went under the name Cobras .
