PRAISE THE LIBS AND PASS THE COVID AMMUNITION AT THE RSL RIFLE RANGE

A dangerous  Ukraine  border-like   situation  surfaced  at   last Saturday's meeting of  the  Magnetic Island  Residents and Ratepayers   Association , MIRRA for short .  It  wasn't  because   there   were  obvious  opposing  members  of  the   ALP   and   Coalition   present   in  the  same  room .

Phillip Thompson , OAM,   Liberal MHR   for  Herbert , was  the guest speaker   and  John  Ring , the   ALP  candidate  for  the   electorate, both from  Townsville, came  over   by   ferry.

The meeting , attended by about 70 people  , in the RSL Club , got  into hot ,possibly  infectious  waters  at the start when the chairman declared all were  welcome  , masked  or  unmasked, vaccinated  or  not .

Mention was also  made  of  the  mask mandate on the " bloody ferry "  service to the island.

In  the  gathering was a  person who  intended  asking  Thompson about the  withdrawal  from Afghanistan and the treatment of  locals who had  supported  the  troops for  20 years

However, he  remarked that the  chairman's  welcome  was  inappropriate, against  Queensland Health mandates  ,  diplomatically  left   the  meeting .

He  was of  the  opinion  that  the  enforcement of  the   mask mandate on   both the  ferry  and   the barge  since  the  relaxation   of  the  border restrictions   had   been instrumental  in  keeping  Covid-19 numbers low on  the island - a  subject not covered  properly  by  the   mainland  media .

If  the  companies   did  not  follow  the  policy  and  their crews became infected, there would be  no "bloody ferries ." People  complaining  about  the  rules  would  not   be  able to  go to "bloody work. "

About  15 people  at the meeting   did  not wear  masks ;  the   checking   of  the  QR app  did  not appear to be   strictly  adhered  to   as  people entered    the  RSL.

Some  islanders  did not  attend because  of concern   about   gatherings   where  COVID   could  be   spread.

MIRRA  claims it acts  in matters of concern  to  the  lifestyle and  livelihood of  its  members, is  strictly non-political  and  impartial.

SKY TELEVISION GARBAGE SHOCK

The  powerful United  Brotherhood  of  Australian  Garbage  Collectors has  placed a  ban on emptying  Sky Television wheelie bins  because  of   obvious   horrifying  and  deadly  mutations  of   the  containers,  such  as   the   one  above .

Due to  toxic content  in  the  Sky bin, it seems to have turned into  a monster from outer  space, worse than triffids  that suck out the  brains  of humans through eye sockets .   Several   garbos   picking up  Sky  bins   have    been  heard  scream  pitifully , then  completely disappear   from  the  face  of  the  earth.

A spokesman for the fearful garbos, Ned  Steptoe,  said  handling  Sky Television  bins  is  so dangerous , he  has  decided  not  to allow his son, Harold,   continue  with  him on   the  dangerous  rubbish  removal  run.

Steptoe called on  Sky management to  stop using  toxic, noxious  and  dangerous   material  on  the premises . He said  the  bilge  was  obviously  finding its way  into  wheelie bins  under the  cover  of  darkness  , endangering  poor  garbos   and   the  wider,  unsuspecting   community.

In  need of  a scrub , Steptoe   pointed out that a promo for  Sky News ,  showing  how   it   had developed  over  the present   dark age , appeared  to   include   an  engulfing   COVID-like   growth  eating  its  logo .

ABC BASHING IN THE TROPICS

Attention  all  keen  writers  of  letters  to  editors  intent  on  rapidly  filling  your    (s)crapbooks   with   ones  that   get   published  : don't  hesitate   to  repeatedly  put  the  Italian  slipper  into   Aunty  ABC  in   News Corp  publications , as  you  will   get a  prominent  run .

A shining example  is the  above missive In  the Murdoch Townsville Bulletin  of  January 27, run  on the leader page , complete  with an insert of  ABC  chair  Ita  Buttrose.

Midst a  shower  of claims , the  writer ,who had recently had an emergency operation  in Townsville ,  implied  that  funding   the  ABC is a  threat to  the state's health scheme . And   increasing the  ABC's  annual  government  allocation  of  $1billion  would  be  a  Greek  pox, not a  virus on the nation .

Ita Buttrose, it said, had told The Australian newspaper that  ABC  funding would  be an important issue in the federal election.

As if reading from a  Paul Murray or Outsiders  autocue, or  uttering  comments  by  one  of  the regular  turkeys who appear on  their   mind numbing  panel  discussions  , the writer asked :

"Is  she shamelessly evoking every left -wing  journalist, green group, along with the Labor Party to start protesting now ? Does she want more money for low rating  shows  to grace the programming of the ABC ,or her huge staff will get a  pay rise  ?"

As everyone knows, News Corp, like ScoMo is psychologically  obsessed   with  the  ABC, has been so since  the l920s !!!- going back to Murdoch the elder.

The obsession is  so  manic ,  News Corp last September accused the ABC  of being obsessed with  the  Australian newspaper   by  mentioning  it and  Rupert  Murdoch  56 times a day.

It quoted a dodgy  Institute  for Public Affairs report  for the bizarre claim. proved to be   wrong , admitted by  IPA, exposed on the ABC's Media Watch.

The  Murdoch empire   is  agin  the   British  Broadcastiing Corporation  and moves  are  afoot  there  to  further  emasculate   its  services under the Tories.

Imagine the turmoil in  News Corp after the announcement that  Coalition cuts to   the ABC   and  SBS, amounting to millions of dollars,   are to be restored . Is  there  an  election  looming ,doctor?

The writer of the  above Townsville Bulletin letter    might  also  be  admitted to  the  Townsville  University  Hospital  for  urgent  shock  treament , if  Ita  Buttrose , revealed as  "the nut cracker " in  Hard Quiz , approves  a  fresh supply of  pre-loved  bedpans  for North Queensland .

UPCOMING : Who is calling   the  shots   in News Corp  ? What  the hell is going on at  Sky ? Other non-fake  exclusives .
