Celebration will be held at the Trades Hall, Melbourne, Saturday ,September 7, beginning 2pm . The adjacent Paddy's Gallery will showcase a month-long exhibition highlighting Pete's lifetime of hoarding , his files finally seeing the light of day .
During the past week Little Darwin has been consolidating its Pete Steedman file , built up over years , during which we ran an extensive series on his colorful life .
One of the Steedman tapes we unearthed from a dark cupboard, containing some lively television debates in which he participated, was found to be alive with ants and had to be rushed outside and decontaminated . Pete, no doubt, would have made a derogatory , justifiable comment about this blog's files .
